Molnvädersgatan
Molnvädersgatan
By Kenny Bengtsson
With an essay by Dr. Niclas Östlind, PHD in Photography.
Special edition of 20 numbered copies with signed archival pigment print, in board box.
Kenny Bengtsson’s Molnvädersgatan offer us a glimpse of life in Biskopsgården, a suburb of Gothenburg, Sweden. From his small balcony and kitchen window, during a five year period, he photographed the colorful shifts in the sky, the flight of birds and the hovering police helicopter. During the same time, he collected cut outs from the media coverage of the area, curious about the power and consequences of the published words. The quotes diverge from the free and elevated nature of the images, and remind us of the challenges society is facing. Together the photographs and quotes create an expressive and poetic story about an area that oscillates between hope and despair.
